Different policies will cover a variety of circumstances, they’re often focused around any accidents, risks or errors that can happen. In general, insurance is there to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in the care process. At Blue Badge Mobility Insurance, we offer a range of different insurance types for Carers and Personal Assistants.

Is carers insurance a legal requirement?

Carers insurance is not a legal requirement, however, the government highlight recommends taking out insurance to cover yourself. Carers insurance can provide protection for things such as damage to property and accidental injury to the person in your care.

Carers insurance can vary depending on the company and the policy. At Blue Badge Mobility Insurance, we offer standard cover for one year starting at £75 a year. This includes Public Liability Insurance up to £1 Million for injury or damage to property, legal expenses in the event of a liability claim, errors or omissions whilst providing care, including administering incorrect medication, up to 90 days cover for care provision whilst on holiday and personal accidents while providing care.
